As Systems Construction Leader for the rail systems part of this project. You will coordinate and oversee completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle and serve as the principal interface for the customer with the systems sub-contractors and manufacturers. You will work with them to deliver the construction to the customer as designed, on time, within budget, and of acceptable quality given the scope requirements and construction environment.
You will provide all on-site field construction management activities associated with the completion of assigned construction package(s). Monitors performance of the construction supervision team to confirm compliance with contractual requirements. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation; contractual obligations and technical aspects of all items to be constructed. Supports the Construction Manager in the management of construction projects to monitor on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations; and monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Overall responsibility of all rail systems engineering, technical integration as well as testing and commissioning where required
Working with the various consultants and contractors to manage and direct overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities
Reviewing Design documents from various Smart City Stakeholders and offer advice to the client.
Ensuring that during the design and construction phases that the client’s interests are met
Preparing periodic reports and summarizing the progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients
Serving as the primary contact with client representatives, and subcontractors, and government representatives for construction-related activities.
Maintaining strong client and community relations.
Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project
Overseeing establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents required from the construction contractor
Coordinating RFI responses, monitors change orders, and makes recommendations to client for construction progress payments
Managing and reviews assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary
Managing the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintaining schedules, and to meeting budget goals.
Keeping alert to possible problem areas and taking preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project
Developing all project technical Plans and Procedures for Rail Systems
Ensuring that all rail systems engineering objectives of the project are fully met to best international standards and practices
Ensuring that all design and implementation activities are performed with highest safety and quality culture in mind and with the ""best"" industry practice
Being fully experienced with all international standards and requirements for developing design of a railway project
Responsible for the development of technical specifications / Employer's
Coordination of staff and Contractors'/Manufacturers' site work force
Change management including coordination of field and design changes, time impact analyses, claims mitigation and disputes resolution
Reviewing and approving construction schedules and progress payments
Issues management and resolution
Coordinating with third party stakeholders, including government agencies, property owners, municipalities, code officials, etc. as may be required in the course of supervising a project
Creating a Beyond Zero site safety culture
Construction quality control and quality assurance
Providing daily, weekly and monthly status reports as well as contract progress meetings
Performs other services in support of the Construction Manager
