- Conducts regular health, safety and environmental control inspection for all operational processes of the company; reports findings to HSE Engineer and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions; may compel cessation of work in order to address potential imminent hazards; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections.
- Welding and cutting of steel – health & safety practices, inspection of equipment;
- Lifting activities – lifting accessories and equipment, safety practices such as use of taglines, etc.;
- Carpentry – cutting of wood, use & inspection of equipment, storing of combustible materials, etc.;
- Concreting works – handling of suspended loads/concrete, PPE’s, working at height, noise, use of chemicals for repair, etc.;
- Stacking of precast units – stability, working at height;
- Transportation – observation of speed limit, safe driving and loading practices;
- Manufacturing of concrete/batching plant area – working at height, use/maintenance of plant, movement of equipment;
- Erection of precast units – lifting, working at heights, verification of implementation of HSE practices required by Client;
- Operation of diesel generators and like equipment – noise, chemical spills, electrocution, etc.;
- Storing of combustible materials
- Waste control
- Office safety;
- Housekeeping;
- Personal Protective Equipment;
- Lock and Tag-Out System;
- Unroutine works/sub-contracted works – issuance of work permit;
- Other processes as instructed by the HSE Engineer, specifications or Client requirements
- Prepares area assessment inspection records as per frequency stated in ITP and HSE Procedures. Verifies the actual condition vs. acceptance criteria and designates the status of the process (OK, NOT OK, N/A).
- Raises Infringement Reports for non-conformities detected during the operational processes. Reports to the HSE Engineer for raised report for verification and disposition. He also reports to HSE Engineer any dubious conditions that may lead to hazards/risks.
- Assist the HSE Engineer in preparation and maintenance of HSE reports, documents and records. He also assist the HSE Engineer in preparation/liaise of environmental/health/safety test reports/certificates/data sheet for submittal and approval of Client or external auditors/parties.
- Conducts receiving inspection for procured safety item such as PPE’s, sign boards, fire suppression/alarm accessories, etc..
- Receives complaints related to health, safety and environment for necessary corrective and preventive actions and reports to the HSE Engineer for verification and further action.
- Maintains and takes care of HSE equipment used for inspection and conduct of HSE Programs such as noise meters, etc. He also conducts regular inspection of all safety equipment, records to ensure proper working condition and raising concern in case of requiring repair or inadequacy.
- Coordinates and implements the actions and recommendations of the KPC HSE Committee; provides technical assistance and advice to the Committee based on their inspection records.
- Investigates near misses, accidents and/or incidents of injury or property damage to ascertain cause and need for corrective action. Raises appropriate reports and records as required by IMS. Follows-up on corrective and preventive actions taken to eliminate or minimize recurrence.
- Provides individual counselling, and on-site and classroom training to workers as directed by HSE Engineer, as part of HSE Program or requested by any personnel. Keeps of records of HSE training
