The opportunity will provide the Drilling Engineer with a number of significant responsibilities and challenging projects that will make a direct impact in the industry. The successful candidate will need to plan and perform various calculations for drilling projects. Interface with clients, sales and operations personnel. This position will cover the basic aspects of drilling engineering as related to the drilling of both straight and deviated wells. The individual will be responsible for achieving competency in all fundamental drilling analysis calculations in addition to being able to interpret their results. Strong performance demonstrated from the Drilling Engineer will be recognized and rewarded.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gain proficiency in well planning using industry standard software.
• Attend training classes to become proficient in torque/drag analysis, hydraulics calculations, vibration analysis. Attend classes on drill string and BHA component design, performance and operation.
• Collect data and perform torque/drag, hydraulics and vibration analysis calculations.
• Attend sales and operations meetings to develop client interface skills.
• Develop understanding of drill string design, for different well profiles, based on torque/drag and vibration analysis results.
• Interface with Well Planners to assure optimum well plan results.
• Attend pre and post well meetings with clients, as required.
• Gain knowledge in analysis of existing data to develop new drilling procedures.
• Understand and comply with all Weatherford company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
• Compile end of well reports and evaluate results to identify areas where performance may be improved.
• Strive to gain experience in all well types and all drilling situations.
• Perform all assignments, in a timely and accurate fashion, as directed by immediate supervisor
