JOB PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Technician – Navigation Aid is responsible for providing on-site first and second level preventive and corrective maintenance for all Navigation Aid Systems within the sector, including at airports, remote sites and military bases to ensure that they are operating as expected to allow SANS to deliver its services safely and effectively.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1- Follow and execute established schedule and plan for preventive maintenance work of Navigation Aid systems within the Sector.
2- Inspect or test faulty Navigation Aid systems to diagnose and assess the technical situation or malfunction and arrange for corrective maintenance to be carried out to provide a cost effective and acceptable solution.
3- Conduct initial corrective maintenance activities of Navigation Aid systems including repairing or replacing parts or components.
4- Liaise with internal and external colleagues/contractor/suppliers/partners to ensure maintenance delivery in case initial corrective maintenance failure.
5- Report to Supervisor for all relevant maintenance information to ensure that they are kept up to date.
6- Maintain records of type and costs of all maintenance and repair work and communicate them to his Supervisor and Sector Maintenance Planning.
7- Provide advice and technical support to other areas as required.
8- Comply with all relevant SQE procedures and controls to ensure employee health and safety, regulatory compliance, delivery of high quality service and environmentally friendly behaviors.
