1. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or electrical and mechanical implementation problems.
2. Plan, schedule, or coordinate MEP project activities and allocate resources to meet deadlines.
3. Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures to ensure reduction of waste and saving of resources.
4. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
5. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety standards and codes, and other regulations.
6. Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the MEP engineering and construction.
7. Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
8. Monitor performance of contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
9. Initiate change requests when necessary in response to customer requests.
10. Prepare proposals and drawings, and study inventory availability to meet customer requests.
11. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
12. Request supplies or materials to complete MEP projects promptly.
