Summary:
Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing spare parts, packaging materials, supplies, services and managing vendors.
Perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Purchasing Strategy.
- Establish strategic relationships with vendors.
- Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
- Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking - Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
- Identifies and researches potential new suppliers
- Researches new products and services to meet company's goals
- Assesses total costs of company purchases
- Develops and implements strategies for procuring materials and services.
- Evaluate vendors performance
- Oversees a team of purchasing department staff
