Knowledge and skills:
Providing professional guidance and advice in relation to power plant chemistry and environmental control
Ability to ensure activities affected by chemical and related considerations carried out effectively, efficiently, economically and safely.
Ability to support maintenance of sampling analysers.
Define and maintain the operating and maintenance of parameters necessary to achieve optimum chemical conditions, both for current operation and to maintain the integrity of the plant over the longer term.
Providing accurate and timely guidance and advice on any chemical parameters deviation that are affecting plant process, equipment health, performance and water quality to the shift Engineers.
Defining and implementing of operating policies and practices
Anticipating and responding effectively to the operational demands on the plants.
Managing sampling and analysis function and present results appropriately
Assist operations departments to manage the chemical store.
Knowledge of current best chemical practices
Knowledge of chemical handling and safety
Knowledge of environmental legislation relevant to power plant operation
Anticipating and responding effectively to the operational demands on the station
Computer literacy about MS office / Sharepoint / Maximo.
Key Accountabilities:
Safe and efficient operation of the plant to deliver high levels of commercial availability within environment limits.
Effective liaison with the Plant Managers / Operation Engineers / Third Party vendors over plant chemistry issues.
Develop and implement sampling frequency as per plant and equipment condition.
Deliver outcomes, in all areas of work, consistent with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Participate in internal / external Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental audits.
Assist towards ensuring that all procedures, documentation, drawings and manuals kept up to date and necessary training completed in a timely manner.
Ensure commitment to training programs for both individual development and operational competence, and assist towards the development of other staff.
Communication and cooperation between Operations, Stores and External Vendors.
Ensure the availability of chemicals all the time.
Travelling between Tihama Assets for sample collection, analysis, training and walkdown.
