• To exhibit sound scientific and technical knowledge as well as commercial awareness.
• Be able to exhibit experience in laboratory work & soil classification.
• Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results in order to determine causes of problems and develop solution.
• Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products in order to ensure their quality.
• To develop, modifying, testing and evaluating materials.
• To provide technical advice about the suitability of materials.
• To monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
• To advise on, planning and organizing inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• To plan and implement laboratory operations to meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
• To undertake relevant research.
• To consider implications for waste and other environmental pollution issues of any product or process.
• To monitoring site conditions and material reactions during use.
• Helping to ensure that products comply with national and international legal and quality standards.
• To consider the costs implications of materials used and alternatives, in terms of both time and money.
