Strategic and Managerial Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the group head and in alignment with the group strategy, develops the strategy for the division and guides the development of strategy for the reporting departments, in line with the stated group priorities.
• Prepares and manages the annual budget for the division and reporting departments in conjunction with the group budget and secures subsequent approval, tracks expenditure and ensures adherence to the budget.
• Supports the development of the workforce plan for the group by providing inputs for own division.
• Recommends improvements and develops the divisional/departmental policies and directs the implementation of procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective services.
Core Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with ALCO, establishes the proper controls to monitor and hedge against liquidity and interest rate risks that impact the credit risk environment.
• Identifies possible future changes in economic conditions and their effect on the Company’s credit exposure (working with third party experts where necessary) and develops action plans to hedge against these risks, and submits them for approval.
• Collaborates with business & support functions to develop comprehensive frameworks, plans and manuals for Risk Management that ensure early identification of risk, stress testing and detailed approaches to mitigation through involvement of appropriate stakeholders.
• Establishes and develops new risk monitoring processes to strengthen the risk identification area and provide an effective tool to identify early warning signs or concerns based on the portfolio level.
• Develops the risk policies and processes (operational, regulatory, financial, informational, reputational and audit risks) and internal control systems, ensuring these meet regulatory and internal requirements and updates the same based on root cause analysis of previous issues.
• Manages and coordinates Company’s risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process and leads the development of Key Risk Indicators and related tools, wherever appropriate.
• Leads the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity program including: development of tools and instructional guides for the Company.
• Delivers management reports in the form of Risk Dashboard on activities and Company’s exposure to risk and shares the dashboard with the senior management, the Board (and its sub-committees) and Regulators for decision making.
• Identifies and escalates on-going portfolio risk management issues in an effective manner.
• Monitors the performance of the portfolio, depending on the activity, type and size of risk, and collateral type.
• Analyses the necessary reports and points out to senior management when the Company exceeds its financing limits and provides the possible risk scenarios with mitigation approaches.
People Management Responsibilities:
• Develops a continuous talent pipeline for key roles in the division and provides mentoring for high potential talent in the team.
• Monitors and enables the achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process in the division.
• Develops talent within the division by providing guidance, ongoing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to individuals to enable achievement of the defined goals.
