Programme Manager – Major Masterplanned Development
To develop and deliver a specific programme of work in line with business requirements and customer expectations.
The programme should be undertaken in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to cost, time and quality in line with corporate governance, company standards and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and delivering a specific programme of work, on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria within corporate guidelines including the investment competence framework.
• Working with the client to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change. This should encompass where appropriate communications with outside bodies.
• Developing and managing the programme team (including external suppliers), monitoring adequate resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective workforce at all times.
• Achieving the programme out turn and margins as agreed with the programme director.
• Developing an appropriate strategy for the development and delivery of the programme work scope.
• Identifying priority opportunities within the programme and lead promotion and sharing of best practice between programmes.
• Monitoring planning so that it considers cross-programme requirements and supports the effective delivery of contracted obligations.
• Undertaking accident investigation when remitted by the relevant designated competent person
• Identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Leading and inspiring the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
• Managing and complying with company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.
• Reporting on the progress and/or impact of all cross-functional projects.
• Liaising with the teams to deliver clear and consistent reporting on programme status and progress to all interested stakeholders.
• Managing the risk management and project governance.
• Developing systems/methodology and maintain records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials as required.
• Ensuring the creation of relevant operating plans detailing by product the activities/projects and launches.
• Working with external suppliers, agencies or other divisions as a representative by fostering collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the programmes.
Requirements
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:
• Masterplanned, major development/project experience is essential.
• Relevant experience in the successful management of major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of the principles of health and safety legislation, environmental and best practice.
• Construction design management competency.
• Project safety management experience
• Accident investigation experience.
• Ability to lead a team and motivate team members.
Qualifications
• A degree qualification or equivalent is preferred but is not essential.
• Professional memberships is preferred but is not essential.
