The PVC Compounding Engineer is responsible for analyzing and developing solutions to support compounding, extrusion and secondary processes. This includes design and development of new processes, modification of existing processes, cost improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Help develop, trial and implement new or improved material compounds, colors, processes, machinery and tooling to meet productivity and business objectives.
• Lead and coach production personnel on process, equipment, and analytical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Become Subject Matter Expert in their facility’s key processes - spend time on floor, inspect lines regularly, learn from plant personnel, track and analyze process conditions and supporting productions reports, and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy of data and quality of product.
• Assist in capital equipment budget planning and specifying to improve on existing production techniques and to develop new products and production methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned to satisfaction of your reporting manager.
