The main purpose of the Assistant Land Surveyor s job is to execute land surveying work to obtain data for base plans as well as construction stake-out and boundary surveys •Works under the direction of the Land Surveyor to adjust and operate surveying instruments •Assists with the setup and the packing of surveying instruments •Adjusts surveying instruments, clears sight lines, positions targets, and takes manual measurements •Compiles notes, makes sketches, and reports the data •Assists with the calibration of surveying instruments •Maintains surveying instruments in proper condition •Ensures full adherence to safety standards on site •Communications and Working Relationships •Reports to and supports the Land Surveyor on all issues related to land surveying •Interacts with and manages direct reports and operational issues on a daily basis
