JacobsZATE Environment and Sustainability Team is a growing discipline within the Jacobs flagship business in the Middle east. The team provides core compliance support to JacobsZATE clients including EIA and permitting, specialist studies and sustainability advice. The team forms part of a larger global network; Sustainable Solutions. Sustainable Solutions provides a focus for advising our clients on sustainability and environmental issues with staff located across North and South America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Our core service offering includes: environmental assessment and permitting, corporate sustainability advice, lean & sustainable manufacturing, climate change and carbon management advice, green buildings assessment and site ecological, heritage, land contamination and regeneration surveys.
With offices and /or projects in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, we are currently looking for expressions of interest to join our growing team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will have good all-round technical expertise in environmental management, experience or familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Management, and at least 5 years post graduate experience. With excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as leading teams with confidence, the successful candidate will be experienced in the management of the technical disciplines required to support environmental assessments and strategies and familiar with the expectations in each engineering phase of the project from Environmental/Regulatory perspectives. Candidates will have a high level of personal responsibility and an adaptable and flexible approach to different project requirements. Experience of the environmental regulations of the Middle East would be advantageous.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Jacobs is a leading service provider in environmental consultancy and advice, supporting infrastructure, engineering and development projects at all stages, from initial conception through to construction and maintenance. Jacobs provides support for a wide range of clients across the public and private sectors. Duties associated with this post will include:
· Support to and co-ordination of the delivery of a range of complex environmental projects, focussing on large-scale national and international infrastructure and engineering projects.
· Working as part of a wider team including interaction and liaison with design team members, technical specialists (Air Quality, Noise and Vibration, Ecology, Waste Management, Water Quality / Management, Climate Change, etc) and Project Managers to facilitate the smooth delivery of projects.
· Undertaking site based studies / surveys , data interpretation, as well as desk based assessment and reporting.
· Undertaking research and applying creative and logical thinking to find, evaluate and implement innovative approaches/ solutions to projects.
· Provide client advice and support on technical matters relating to EIA, Permits, environmental management plans and the environment in general.
